The manager reports as follows for past week :—" Morning Star section, 50 feet level: The crosscut has been extended about 60 feet from main drive, through a nios*. favorable class of country for gold, though none has been seen this week. One or two veins of quartz are being discovered every day. 132 feet level, No. 3 stopes: We have not been getting so much quartz from here this week, in consequence of coming into contact with some old workings, which has given much, extra work and caused delay. Tunnel level, Wo. 3 stopes: A slight improvement has taken place here, there being more quanz and of a promising, nature. In driving west at tunnel level Wo. 3 footwall leader, the country has ■'improved during the last day or two; the hanging-wall portion of the leader alab shows improvement. The rise upon No. 3 from tunnel level is up about 10 feet, and a promising-looking leader from hanging-wall has junctroned with the main body of quartz in rise. No gold has been seen here this week, but indications are such as to lead one to expect it. 80ffc level, south west from cross-cut and east of shaft: The leader where broken occasionally shows colors of gold. A few lbs of picked stone has come to hand this weak from a branch leader If inches thicl-r^^i^Jr-iTipiii of above mentioned leader, a nd at the same level. North-eastof cross-cut: The block of ground is not very extensive above 80ft level, but should the leader yield as it has done this week it will prove remunerative. Tributes: some of the parties are getting a little gold at present, but nothing extra.—J. G. Vivian." GOLD RETURNS. Albuenia. — McGarvey and party's crushing of four loads produced 11oj!S 16dwts gold. Clabemont.—A parcel of gold weighing 3ozs 12dwts from this claim was banked on Saturday. Caledonian. — Paltridge and party's crushing of about 10 loads gave 18ozs 19dwts gold. ■ Ktjeanui Hill.—Le Manquais' crush- ! ing of 18 tons produced lOozs odwts gold. Carter's crushing gave 28oes 14dwts gold. Moanataikt. —White and party's crushing of 11 loads yielded 290z lOdwts melted gold.
