NEW WHAU.
Crushing for this mine has been going on for some time at the Herald mill, and retorting took place yesterday. The total yield of gold obtained was 14ozs 15dwi.s. Part of'the crushing was composed of 4 loads of quartz from the winze at the 160 feet level, and this has proved payable, the result being 7ozs lOdwts retorted gold. The remainder of the gold was got from trial parcels from other portions ot the mine. GOLD KETUENS. Albtjrnia..—McLean aud party hare finished a crushing of four loads for the . return of 15ozs sdwts gold. , . Moa.vataiki.—This company banked 19ozs 16dwts jzold today, which was obtained in cleaning up the plates, &c:, at the battery. Star of Te Papa.—A crushing for Dudley and party yielded 2ozs 13dwts gold. Moanataibt.—:Koss and party's crushing of 11 loads yielded 4oz 6dwts gold. Goldsworthy's crushing of 2£ loads produced 38ozs ldwt gold, and McKeown and party's crushing of 10 loads gave lOozs 17d\vts gokL
