ThQ 'Wads Smuggling Oase.
The rehearing of the charges of smuggling against Emrile and Polkinhorne, which have occupied the attention of the jourt for some days past, was concluded this mornnig, and resulted in their acquittal. The case had excited a great deal of interest, and • over fifty witnesses have been examined.
Montgomery, formerly manager of the British Hotel, was committed for trial on on a charge of indecently assaulting the little daughter of Mrs iSceats.
