Some time ago we called atteution to the pamphlet, " Land, Ho ! " published in Lyttelton, recommending its perusal, and statiDg the objects of the writer, which were to secure the nationalisation of the land of the colony. Since fhen, the Liberal Association has looked up the question, and it has been debated at their meetings. In Lyttelton, however, the matter has been taken up very warmly, and at a meeting held lasC evening, the following resolution was carried :— " That a society be formed to promote the nationalization of the land in JNew Zealand in accordance with the principles contained in the pamphlet ' Land, Ho !' That the name of the society bo Land, Ho, No. 1." It is intended to take steps to form branches throughout the colony on the basis of the proposal, the purchase by the State of all freehold properties, and the substitution of a system of lease, with a provision" enabling the State to resume possession of all blocks of land above two thousand acres on the payment of fair compensation. Thpre is a good openiug for a branch society on the Thames, or the expansion of the present Land Association, to which we have so frequently called attention. The subject of land for the people will yet be heard more of, and especially during the coming elections, when candidates may be called upon to express* their views upon the question. We commend the suggestions to the wciabfcis of the Liberal Association, the

Land Association, and others taking an interest in such questions.
