The latest intelligence Iroin Afghanistan is to the effect that, Ayoub Khau is still iv the neighbourhood of Caudahar, where he is recruitiug his forces and nuking requisitions upou t-iie inhabitants of the district for supplies and arms, of which he stands much in need. His artillery is reported to be sufficiently stroug. and fifteen of tbe Ameer's cannon captured at the battle of Kirez Illyiar last mouth are in consequence being scut to Herat. Ti:e Irish. Land BillMeetings were held lasc night in this city, aud at various other places iv England, at which speeches were made aad resolutions passed expressing approval of the policy of the Government in regard to tbe Irish Land Bill. Other meetings with a similar object in view are being organised at various other towns. August 15. . The Morning Post to-day, in a leading article on the position of affairs in regard to the Irish Land Bill, warmly approves of the opposition of the Marquis of Salisbury and his supporters to the amendments to the provisions of the measure as brought about at their instigation in the House of Lards.
