i IN WANT OF INFOEMATIOK
1 (To the Editor of the Evening Star ) \SIB,--Now that the candidates for the County Council, Messrs Greenville and Biill are before the public, I think it only rijiht and proper that they express their rieWs upon the following topics, viz.:—l. The alienation of our goldfields into the hafids of private speculators, to the detriment of the miner, the sinew and muWlft; of the Thames, whether the caßjcii'dfl'tes will use their efforts to fru|f rate such an object, and also petition thei Government to purchase the aurir feroiu'j lands for the people. 2 If they are Wjreeabie that officers of tin- Council •UMB&VW.7;large salaries should be allowed to porform prVi-Lte work in ofb'ce hours, utilising the County sWEfor that purpose thereby reaping double Vtnefifcs, and depriving those in public practice n-ca gaining a livelihood. It' Messrs Greenville and Bull, would enlighten tlie public as to their opinions upon the sbovo subjects, it would also satisfy a few electors. Hoping you will kindly reserve space to give the above insertion.-—I am, &c, Fair Play.
