AUCKLAND.
This day,
The schooner Albatross, which arrived this morning from the Islands, reports the wreck of the Auckland built brigan tine Meg Mejrrilies, which left Suva for Levuka, in command of Captain Hughes. When beating along the reef outside the former harbour, she missed stays and went ashore, and was washed high and dry.
The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce telegraphed to the Premier and some Auckland members re the unfair representation of Auckland on the Direct Steam Service Committee.
A special meeting is to be held on Tuesday re the omission of the Government to place a sum on the Estimates for the completion of the railway reclamation. Public feeling is exercised on the matter.
