LATEST PARLIAMENTARY.
(Peb Pjjess Association.)
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
Wellington, This day
In the House to-day, the report of the committee on the Church of England Trust Incorporation Bill was brought up. It recommended that leave be given to the promoters to withdraw the bill. Leave being granted, the bill was withdrawn.
In reply to Mr Reeves, Mr Johnston said he would carefully consider, the feasibility of considerably reducing the cost of ordinary and delayed telegrams, but any large increase of business, however, would necessitate increase of staff and additional wires. He would have calculations made to see if this expense would likely be justified, and as a first step [he would consider whether it was possible to make an early reduction in the, cost of delayed telegrams.
