Friday

There was beautiful weather to-day for the Hunt Club meeting. The events were as follows :—

Hunt Club Cup, 60 soys. (for qualified hunters)— Fakir, 1; Winfield, 2 ; Flora, 3. Forsaken was scratched ; Native and Tawera also ran. Won easily by two lengths.

Gone-away Stakes, of 80 soys.—Agent, 1; Quamby, 2 ; Clarence, 3 There were no other starters. Assent cantered in an easy winner by a couple of lengths, a gap of about three lengths separating the second and third.
