In the House to day Mr Stevens moved the adoption of the Church of England in New Zealand Trustees Incorporation Bill.

Mr Sheehan opposed the Bill, and would also oppose any similar Bill, as he objested to land of the colony being given to any religious denominations.

Fox and Ballance opposed the Bill

Grey hoped the Hon. member in charge of the Bill would withdraw it until after the next meeting of the General Synod.

Mr Steward considered the Bill proper and necessary, he is still speaking.
