mittee will now be brought up for final consideration. At the annual meeting of the National Rifle Association at Wimbledon, the Queen's prize (second stage), consisting of the Association's gold medal and £250 has been won by Private Deck, of the 3rd Devon Volunteer corps, who made the score of 86 marks, the highest on record. Telegrams are to hand from America, stating that, despite the settlement of the Forticuo Bay fisheries disputes which was arrived at last month, fresh differences are now arising between the American and Canadiau fishermen regarding the rights of the former in Newfoundland waters, and communications hare already passed between the American and English Government in regard to the points now in dispute.
