At the Magistrate's Court this morning, Jojin Simpson, keeper of the hulk on board which the boiler exploded, was committed for trial on llie charge that he did knowingly and wilfully fasten down the safety valve of the boiler. Bail was allowed, himself in £100, and two sureties of £50 each.
The s.s. Australia, with the London mails of the sixteenth ultimo, left San Francisco on Sunday, the 3rd inst., one day later than her time-table date.
The ss. City of New York, with the June colonial mails, arrived at San Francisco"bn the 14th inst., at time-table date.
