This day

The hearing of the arson case at Ashbufton was resumed during Saturday. The court was cro.wded and great interest was taken iv the£ case. Mrs Bockman was discharged on account of insufficient evidence against her; but the Magistrate said he would require her evidence for the defence of Huxton and his wife. The farther hearing of the case was adjourned till Saturday.

Two slight shocks of earthquake occurred here yesterday afternoon, at about ten minutes to two o'clock.
