At a meeting of the shareholders of the TVAroha Quartz Crushing Company, Mr C. Gould in the chair, the present directors were ; unanimously re-olected, and then the shareholders were brought to the consideration of the real business of the evening, which was, it is needless to say, of a financial nature. From the statement it appeared that about 4 £750 of the outlay of £1150 on the battery and buildings have been-provided for, and that there are still about 60 shared unsold, and a balance of £350 required to meet engagements. It was not considered advisable'to make a call at present for several reasons stated, and' there war every prospeot of getting rid of the remainder of the shares ' iti the "next few month's, and'as there were no expenses beyond that of £1 a week, it was better to wait to' see what effect a little more time and judicious management might have upon the prospects of the place. The bank "Would advance the amount of £350 upon the personal security of the directors, and the directors asked for a bill of pale of the property of the company to secure themselves in ■b doing. A proposal by Mr Stafford that this coarse be taken in preference to a mort- - gage, was seconded by Mr O'Halloraa, and carried unanimously. 'After a vote of thanks t» the chairman I,' and an expression of confidence ii the fat^re prosperity of the goldfield I in apite of the temporary reaction upon the ' fint rush, the meeting was dissolved.—W.
