OUR MINES.

CURE

The rise from the No. 1 level to the Old Grolden Crown level broke through yesterday, and this part of the mine is now well ventilated. The manager is now cleaning out the stopes at the No. 1 level, preparatory to stoping out the leader left by Clark and party. He has also started two men to drive on the leader in the hanging-wall, but as yet. enough work has not been done to enable him to judge of its worth.

EURANUI HILL

The manager reports, under date 4th July, as follows : —' The crushing ou company's account was completed on Saturday, and retorted to day with a result of 73ozs 19dwts gold. Nearly the whole of'this was got from the surface veins in the Junction and All Nations. The trial parcels from the large leaders in Kelly's and thw Charleston sections turned out very unsatisfactory, and on Lhese lodes I have suspended work. The men previously employed there are now driving on the reef at the 360 feet level. On this we were able to begin work last Tuesday. Since then we have been stripping the lode, and will break down tomorrow, and report by wire if I see any important change. The surface workings continue almost unchanged. During last week wo got no picked stone, but saw gold frequently. I have started four men on Pearce's leader ; I will first fake out the balance of the leader under the beach level, and afterwards see what can be done above Pearce's stopes. Tomorrow I will nielc and sell the gold and forward result, together with detailed statements of tributers' crushings and of the battery work." —J. W. Walkeb.

GOLD EETUENS
