Resignation
Mr Berry tendered the resignation of himself and c'ollcagfties to the Governor this morning. It js probable that Sir Bryan O'Loghlen will be summoned by His Excellency to form a neve Ministry. It is doubtful if he will succoeed in doing so.

In both Houses of Parliament last evening .addresses in reply to the Governor's opening speech were carried without a division.
The Chinaman who carried small pox from a countryman'who was attacked at Waterloo, has been found to be suffering from the disease'at Druittown, and has been removed to a quarantine station.

. The, ..Queensland Parliament has been opened by the Governor. His Excellency in his speech on. the occasion announced that Government had failed to come to an agreement with the English Company for the construction of the trans continental railway, but it was hoped the Government will be prepared to introduce a bill for the purpose during the session. Measures would also be introduced to give effect to the recommendations of the Intercolonial Conference.
The report of the Steel Rails Commission would be laid on the table, and it would be found to decisively and comprehensively absolve the Premier from the charges made against him.

Openingl of Parliament.
Parliament was opened today by His Excellency Lord Augustus Loftus. In his address, the Governor announced that during the session the following measures would be brought in : —A bill for the regulation of Chinese Immigration, Legislature Bill, Licensing and Municipal Bills, together with others for amendments of various acts now in force in the colony.

It is now definitely known that the Governor has refused the advice of the Ministry that Parliament should bo dissolved in the present crisis.
