GISBORNE.
This day,
A public meeting was held on Saturday night of persons interested in the settlement of the waste lands of the district. It was unanimously resolved to memorialise Government to appoint a local board for Cook County. A number of persons are anxious to settle upon waste lands in this district under the Homestead Act.
