The Victorian returns of revenue and expenditure have been issued to-day, and show the revenue for the .quarter ended 30tb June to have amounted to £1,336,000 an increase of £231,000 as compared with the corresponding quarter of last year. The revenue for the year ended 30th June was £5,107,000, being an increase of £55,300 on the year 1879-80: The customs receipts increased in the same period by £103,000, railway receipts by £127,000, and the excise by £215,000. The land revenue, however, shows a decrease of £11,000. . The expenditure for the year amounted to £559,000, being an increase of £270,000 on the year ended 30th June, 1880. . .
'A. grand concert was given at the Exhibition building last evening by the Germau Liedestafel Society. The Koyal Princes and the G-overnor were present, and the attendance of the public is estimated at fully 6000. The affair was a most brilliant success.
