Mining Review of the Week.
Judging from the returns to hand during the past wool:, mining mailers do not seem to be improving on the ThamesTli3 monthly returns from the Alburoia and New Golden Crown are considerably below those of last month, but one of our mines, the Waiotahi, has had a capital return, the stuff crushed averaging considerably over l}ozs to the ton. Moanatairi affairs seem to get worse and worse, and we now hear that the directors contemplate suspending operations iv the mine on behalf of the Company, and allowing funds to accumulate from tribute parties. The reserve fund has been exhausted, and the mine has not yielded enough gold of late months to encouragemore prospecting.
We would draw the attention of our readers to the prospectus of the Martha Mining and Quartz Crushing Company, which appears in another column ot this issue. If the prospects of the mine are as good a3 the directors evidently believe them to be, and tli6 same opiuions are held by many other*, the shares should
go off rapidly and the company soon be in full swing.
