Visit of Mr Sheehan to Coromandel.

The s.s. Vivid got away a little after four o'clock yesterday afternoon, having on board, Mr John Sheehan, His Worship the Mayor, Messrs Oloonan, Mcllhone, Morgan, Fraser, Darrow and others. The trip occupied three hours. At the wharf waiting for Mr Sheehan was, Mr Gadman, Chairman of the County Council, and a large number of the residents of Coromaudel. As the hour was past that announced for the meeting, no delay was made, but all proceeded to the schoolroom of the lower township, which was well filled with the electors of the district.

Mr Cadman was voted to the ghair, and in a few words introduced Mr Sheehan, who was greeted with great applause. The speech was in substance that delivered at the Thames, and was most patiently and attentively listened to. The local requirements of the place were touched upon, and the unfairness of the dealings of the present administration pointed out. A few questions were askod, to all of which Mr Sbeehan replied satisfactorily. Mr Rayner then proposed a vote of thanks and entire confidence in Mr Sheehan, which was seconded by Mr Marshall and carried unanimously. Three cheers were called for Mr Sheehan, and given most enthusiastically. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting. The party left (Joromandel at 11 o'clock for the Tuames, arriving at an early hour. Mr Sheehan was a passenger to Auckland by the Rotomahana, and will leave to-morrow for Wellington. We may mention that Mr Cadman, the respected Chairman of the Coromandel County Council, had made such arrangements for entertaining Mr Sheehan and his friends, that the cost of cabs, carriages, boats to take them off to the steamer, or even refreshments, were not allowed to be charged the visitors.
