This day
The sea is still at intervals casting ashore the bodies of those drowned in the Tararua. Constable Neeston, who is stationed at Wai papa, reports that on the 12th he found the body of a man almost naked, the fingers and features gone, and no marks that could lead to identification* On the 16th the body of a woman was found on the beach, but although it has suffered more than others, it is supposed to be that of the wife of Denz, one of the crew of the ill-fated ship. One of the breasts being considerably* larger than the other, which is stated to hare been the case with Mrs Denz.
