This day

A cablegram received states that the steamer Bowen left Foochoo for Wellingon the 15th inst. She brings a cargo of first season tea.

The City of Sydney, with the London mails of 19th ult,, left 'Frisco for Auckland on Saturday, the 4th inst., time-table date. She should reach Auckland on Sunday, the 26th. The Southern mails will be brought on to Wellington direct from Onehunga.

The Australia, with the May colonial mails, arrived at 'Frisco on the 14th, two days in advance of due date.

At an open air meeting of the unemployed this morning, it was decided to petition the Minister of Public Works for work.
