In the Legislative Assembly night, Mr .Ramsay, on behalf of the Opposition, announced that the Legislative Council was prepared to reduce the candidates' qualification to be provided by the Eeform Bill to £100, and to withdraw its demand for two Ministers in" the Council. It was also willing that thpSsljnJTioßs of members to the Council should take place on one day, in order to stop plural voting. Earnsay in his speech following this intimation, strongly urged Govennment to agree to another joint conference of the Committees of the two Houses, to agree if possible to a compromise in regard to the Bill. Finally Mr Berry stated his acceptance of the proposal despite the protests by several of his supporters and members of the corner party. The committee of the Assembly will comprise, Messrs Berry, 7ale, Nimmo, Hall, Eamsay, Wrexon, aud Sir Bryon O'Loughlin. It is expected that a favorable result will be arrived at by the conference. Melboubne, Wednesday. To-day, the debate on Sir Bryan O'Laughlin's motion that the Eeform Bill should be again referred to a committee of both Houses was resumed. In the course of the afternoon and evening several speakers addressed the House in favor of the motion. The debate continues at 10.30 p.m. Sydney, Wednesday. Smajl Fos in Sydney. Another European has been attacked with small pox. The sufferer resides iv Cumberland Street, some little distauce from the scene of the first outbreak, at the residence of On Choug in George street. The alarm was given throughout the neighbourhood, and in the city it is generally increasing. A carpenter "who has been working at a house in Lower George-street, opposite the residence of On Chong, a Chinese merchant, whose ch'iid haa been suffering from small pox, has' caught the disease. He resides, with fourteen other persons, in a house at Surrey Hills, and his house has been quarantined by the police and neighbours living in the locality.
