Some time ago the Secretary to the Thames Naval Brigude received a circular from....the Wellington Brigade suggesting the formation of all the Naval corps'in the colony into one body.- The idea of the Wellington men is of course to have the hcad-faaifters-at Port-NicK, and on the strengtli of, that'; ge¥ the GWremißent to supply .them'with schooner,' and other little luxuries, which their'pbftifion as the j unidr [ brigade! in the colony d tie s not entitle them to. A. m^etiDg of. our 1 Brigade was held 'Jjwt eyeninjj, whjßp thp Wellingtoa proppsitib^ considered and as will oe seen from thp transcript of tthe resoJutipnS;given below the Thames Brigade is in favor of prefer*;, ing itrfatttoriomyirr-l. That this company do not agree with the opinion of the Wellington Nairalu Brigade' as to the desirability of formingthevarjous naval volunteer companies into* one body, put prefer their presipnt independent position. 2. That the Captain reply to Gaptam Johnston accordingly, and that he take such further action in the matter by communicating with the Defence Office, and otherwise as he may think aavisable;
