London, May 28. Trickett and Kelly, his trainer, have started for New York. ' News is to hand from Ireland that serious riots have occurred at Mitchels* town in the County Cork 12,000 (sic) peasants assembled there to oppose the service of writs for the ejectment of some tenants, and upon the police arriving on the scene, fighting of a very; severe character took place. After much blood* Bhed on both sides, the rioters Were dispersed and the eviction of the tenants were finally completed. The Irish Land League is daily increasing its agitation through the country, and is showing that it will oppose any attempt to prohibit its meetings. London, May 29. The Times, iv a leading article yesterday, contradicts a report recently circulated that it was the intention of the British Government permanently to ucpupy Uhaman and Pisten Valley after llie evacuation of Caudahar, and announces that orders have been issued for the early evacuation of the latter port. The Times further states the Indian Government has warmly protested against this withdrawal of troops from Afghan territory; but without influencing any determination of the Imperial Cabinet.
There are rumours that complications likely to arise between iiussia and Germany, consequent upon the accession of the Czar Alexander 111., are attracting attention throughout Europe. There is a growing coldness between the two countries, which is being much commented upon in diplomatic circles at the present time. Lokdon, May 28.
