At tbe Auckland City Council the Mayor stated that he would take steps to ascertain whether the detached squadron would visit Auckland, and if so he would initiate measures for a suitable reception. The City School Corn id it tee last night passed- a resolution uuanimously condemning any inteifoceoce with the Education Act. - A boat with three young men capsized near the entrauce to the harbor yesterday, but all were good swimmers, and reached the shore raueh exhausted, after being an hour in the water.
