A PPLIOATION has been made by WiiJJL ham Hbhby Shabbatt fora license to construct a water race for gold mining purposes at Tararu Creek, commencing at a point at the falls at junctiop of Ohio and Tararu Creeks, and terminating at a peg marked H, M shown on plan lodged with application. The length of such race is two hundred yards, or thereabouts, and its intended course ie north and south. The mean breadth and -depth of such race is 2ft. by 9in., and it is capable of carrying two sluice heads of water, ttnd the number of sluice heads .of forty inches each which it is intended to appropriate is two. NOTICE is therefore given that on the 28rd day of May, 1881, a. license may be granted to the abovenamed Wihjah Henbt Shxkbatx for the said water race, unless valid objection thereto be in the meantime made in writing and lodged at this Office, hot less than seven dear days before that date. A PPLICATION has been made by John J\ Pepper for a License to construct a Water Race for gold mining purposes at Tapu Creek, commencing at a point on tbe North bank of the said creek, about six chains from the south-east corner of the Rainbow Claim, and terminating at the junction of No. 8 branch of Tapu Creek, at Waipatukahu No. 4 Block, on the north bank of the creek as •hewn on plan lodged with the application. The length of such Race is twenty-seven chains or thereabouts, and its intended course is along the north bank of the Waipatukahu or Tapu T Creek.
