SIR GEORGE GRAY.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.)
Sir, —I notice in the Advertiser of this morning a sketch of the birth and life of Sir George Grey; taken from the Sydney Mail, in which appears the usual error of spelling his name as well as his father's, with the c instead of an a. Sir" George Grey's father was half brother to the late Lieut.-Colonel Gray, of the: 40th Regiment, residing during, the latter years of his life at Wynnestead, East Tamaki, and he could never understand why the spelling of the family name should have been altered. The family of the late. Lieut.-Colonel Gray hold documents which prove the fact above stated without a 'shadow': of a doubt.—l am, &c, -!______ Tbuth«
