Thames Rifle Rangers.

The above company, or, as friend Wiseman hatli it, " The Ladies' Own," paraded last evening for monthly inspection. There was, as usual now with this corps, a first rate, muster, Capt. Douglcs Had Lieut. McFarland being present, and lutjr also Lieuti Kitehing. Major Murray duly inspected the company, and expressed himself pleased with the good condition of the ar.ns aud accoutrements and their geuera'ly smart and soldierlike appearance, aud saia it would give him pleasure to favorably report to Major Withers concaiaing them. He funher referred fo his determination to resigd the command of the district, and expressed his regret at severing his connection with the Thames Volunteers, with whotu he - bad -had so long aud so pleasing an acquaintance. The prizes won on Easter Monday—3s in number—were then presented to the winuers by Caplain Douglas, who refer/ed (o the action now pending re the Andrew Cup, and hoped the corps would, not, on account of the action of one m..v, be considered ungrateful to their «Eany Liends for the prizes so freely and heartily given to the Hangers, upon which three ringing cheers burst spontaneously from the company for the kind donors, and one cheer more for their.late surgeon, Dr and Mrs Andrews, Mrs Nicks, and other friends. The Eangers evidently hang well together, and notwithstanding the depressing' atmosphere at present around Volunteer matters, don't seem at all inclined to succumb, the niott:> of the corps " Pro patria " still being to the front of the "ladies' own."
