WELLINGTON.
This day. First Case under Property Tax. Ernest Greatrex, representive of Greatrex and Son, saddlers and ironmongers, of Wellington and Welsall, England, has been summoned for not furnishing Property Tax returns, as required under the Property Tax Act. This is the-first case laid by the Commissioner, and will be heard in the course of a day or two.
At the inquest on the body of William Peckham the jury returned a verdict that he came by his death through the upsetting of his cart. The jury censured the contractor for the bridge repairs for not having"the road properly lighted.
