As is shown from the following interesting TALE OF THE PACIFIC! A TALE OF THE PACIFIC. Wm. Opperman, Esq., a wealthy island trader, was for some monthß lying ill at Happemamma, an island of the Kingsm Group, in the Pacific. He had been seized with rheumatic fever, which was followed by complicated disorders of a terribly severe nature, assuming the forn; of a species of palsy never before known. The sufferer's limbs swelled, the legs lost all sensibility to pain ; the foot coiald be wrenched round or the skin pierced with a lance without in flicting the slightest suffering. The sick man was evidently unconscious of his having legs, and his brain was seriously affected as if with lunacy. In this deplorable state he was kindly brought from the islands to Auck land by Mr H. Henderson in the 3chooner Coronet, Captain Moeller, and, being a ! German, he was received by the German I Consul, G. Yon der Heyde, Esq., and placed in the District Hospital, where he received treatment for three weeks with no indication of improvement, his case being pronounced by one and all a hopeless one., The captain of the Coronet, knowing that extraordinary cures [had been effected by the use of Hitchens' Celebrated Blood Eestorer requested the proprietor of the Blood Eestorer to take the case in hand, and a contract was entered into of "No cure, no pay." Mr Hitchens proceeded to the Hospital, examined the invalid and found him in an apparently dying state, with scarcely a spark of life left. Mr Hitchens ordered the suffering man' to be removed to his (Mr H's) private residence, where his wants could be personally attended to by Mr Hitchens. The latter administered the medicine (the Blood Eestorer) and used the ointment freely. Meanwhile clergymen called, pronouncing the case beyond the power of man to effect a cure. However after six weeks the effect of the medicine became wonderfully apparent. The Blood Eestorer had acted steadily but surely on the blood; the deadly impurities were gradually eliminated from the system until the stream of life flowed unchecked in its natural channels over the . entire man. The brain became clear amd active, and the limbs once again rejoiced in natural circulation, the patient rising to his feet cured of diseases which had baffled the skill of leading physicians, a living proof of the wonderful healing powers of Hitchens' Celebrated Blood Eestorer. ■ , = : TESTIMONIAL.
