Bazaar.
A bazaar and gift stall, in aid of the building fund of the Mackay street Primitive Methodist Church, took plaoe last evening at the Volunteer Hall, Richmond street. The seven stalls were covered with a tastefully displayed array of fancy goods, toys, aud nicknacks.:Of all descriptions, the ladies of the cqrijji|s( gation performing the onerous duties?<sf saleswomen. The Rev. W. Adamson, and Messrs Ahier, Taylor, and Christie largely contributed to make the affair a success. The prizes were distributed on the Art Union principle, and amusement was occasionally created when a bashful young man was handed a tiny article of child's wearing apparel, or a prepossessing young xlamsel won something equally inappropriate. The pleasure of the gathering was greatly enhanced by the attendance of the Naval; Band, who, under the leadership of Mr Bachelor, played several selections in first-class style. The stalls were managed by the following ladies : —Mesdames Martin, Bennett and Baker, and Misses Gribble, Taylor, and Greenville. The proceeds of the bazaar amounted to £46.
