MANAGERS' REPORTS.

Reuben Pabr.—l have broken down quarts 12 feet high and 20 feet long over the back of drive. The quartz looks very well, and we have seen a good many color? in it. It seems to improve as we get up on it, and the last breaking down showed some good good dabs of gold. I shall forward five trucks to the battery for a trial during the week, and I believe it will pro|g to be payable. After this crushing wlf can break quartz a great deal speedier, as we have the ground timbered and things in fair working order. Drive: The contractors have driven 11 feet for the fortnight ending. There has been four men in the drive since Wednesday. The reef is one foot wide, and looks favourable for gold.—W. N. Comee.

Waiotahi.—No. 3 lerel: No. 4 and branch lead in the stopesare looking better, and the dirt is also better. The stopes on these leaders are up about 20 feet above the level, and I am now in a better country for gold, and about the height last blocks turned out good dirt. No. 5 lode: The stopes on this lode are up 15 feet above the level; the lode is improving, but lam not high enough up to get the change of ground. I met with two footwall leaders last week, one is small, only an inch wide, but carries gold, r and,l believe it to be the No. 4 leader,. v |Che other is about four inches wide^iinobks very well, but I have not seen any gold in it. No. 2 level: The block on the small leaders between the Nos. 4 and 5 is nearly finished, having broken through into the No. 5 stopes. I have been driving on and prospecting a small leader in .No. 1 drive east, which was cut some time ago. I have seen a little gold in the ,stone last week. The ground is very kar^at. giresent, but I might get a change-of country, and this leader might lead me on to something better.—J. E. Smith.
