Since the Otago Daily Times has been changed into a penny daily its circulation has so increased as to tax the old machinery beyond its capabilities, and new machineryhas been ordered from Home. A correspondent of the Lyfcteiton Times says that several residents in the Port Victoria district had to dig their potatoes before they were ripe to save them from the pheasants, which are also very fond of apples and peas.
