Gilligan to Mr H adfield, father of the accused, who, after making the purchase, attempted to draw out, an action being blien .brought agaiust him in the Supreme Court to compel him to carry out the contract. Through other causes he was, however, subsequently obliged to relinquish the property, aud it is now alleged that lie sold one thousand sheep which were included in the purchase of the station, although the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company had a 1 lien upon them. I A meeting of surveyors and engineers was held last night in connection with-the formation of a New Zealand Institute of Surveyors and Civil Engineers. The report of the acting secretary was read.
