Thk Hospital Committee met yesterday ' afternoon, the President, L. Ehrenfried, Esq , being in the choir. A complaint was heard from the Dispenser that the contractor for milk wbs not punctual in delivering it, und •I*4 that the Doctor had discharged a patient named Evan for striking another patient over the head with a stick. After some discussion the matter dropped. The Treasurer's statement •howed that the receipts had been £320 17a Sd for the month, and the expenditure £117 Hi lid, baring got an overdraft at the bank of £122 8s lOd. The sub committee appoin- " ted at last meeting brought up the following report: —Your committee beg to report hay ing inquired into the subjects referred to t hero for their consideration, and have arrived at the following conclucions:—l. That after perusing the whole of the correjpondenne from the Government upon the subject of i supplying funds required for the maintenance : ' of the institutions over and ahove the amounts raited locally, are of the opinion that the position of the Hospital Committee in this matter remains unaltered. * The duty of raising »■ much as can be obtained by means subscriptions and donations upon which the Government give a subsidy of. pound for pound itill continues, and the Government have further guaranteed to make up any deficiency that may arise, but that any sums over and above the subsidy will,be deducted from monies due to the Borough and County -.
