A meetiug of Orangemen last night subscribed £78 for the assistance of persons Boycotted in Ireland. A five-roomed house in Kothsay, ow#ed by Joseph Sergeant was burnt down last night. It was insured for £175 in the Transatlantic office. ■, ■ ■ ■ Next Monday Mr Sempson, E.M., relieves Mr Watts as Magistrate of the city and Port Chalmers Courts. By the fire at the Clydevale station the Victoria loses £150 and the National the same amount.
