Eocket, Dan, King Quail, aud Sir George, are received as additional entries for both the Easter and Autumn Handicap at the Auckland autumn meeting.
• Thomas Cook, a settler at Tawhoa, was found dead in the road to-day.
At the inquest on Ciesar Anthony Zambra a verdict of "Accidental death" was returned.
Some deserters from the whaleship Eobert Morrison have stole a boat from Mr Brown, at Wuapu. The Eussell police recovered the boat, but did not find the deserters. v
A lad, named Eichard Campbell, was thrown from his horse at Mount Albert. His head struck the stone wall, fracturing the skull. He was brought to the Hospital.
