UNION (COROMANDEL).
The following is the last weekly report of -the mine manager: —Since taking charge, my time has been principally devoted to prospecting a large reef which was supposed to be Blackmore's. I now think differently, as I have unearthed another reef about 40 feet further down the spur, with good loose prospects; besides, the stone resembles Blackmore's more than the other did. This is also Tiernan's flat reef, as I can trace it round to Tiernan's workings, from whence he has been getting the specimens of late. I have now started to drive on this lode, but it will take another day or two before getting into the solid, as my force for the two mines is not very strong. It is, however, quite sufficient until such time as Ido some more prospecting. There is no end of quartz lodes iv this property, which I doubt not will be of some value ere long.
