NEW GOLDEN PAH (COROMANDEL).
Intermediate level west: Extended drive 18 feet from rise. Leader is small, and split up where it joins again. I expect it will be a good sized leader, and carry gold. Intermediate level east: Have driven 19 feet east of rise. The leader in this is clay and rubbly quartz. I think this drive will improve shortly. 8-feet level, No 2 leader : Opened out in crosscut north of shaft on a small leader. Good body of quartz is now to hand; looking well; have driven 8 feet, ,80-feet level stope: Continued this stope, and have obtained a few picked stones. Leader maintains its size and appearance. 50-feet level: Started a cross-cut south of No. 1^ leader; have struck a small leader about 3 inches thick. In taking it down colours of gold were seen. In going west this will junction with No. 1 leader.—W. G. Mastin.
