This day. Brown.Committed for Trial,

Samuel Brown, a well know n citizen of many years standing in the city, was committed for trial on three charges of burglary. The defence, as set up when the cases were brought forward, was that sometime ago the accused was inssne, and he has since been in the asylum.

James Patten, while playing cricket at Onebunga was fielding a ball, when another cricketer ran into him, knocking him down and breaking five ribs.
