MOANATAIARI.

At the battery the company's crushing is showing a considerable improvement, and Saturday's return should be better than last fortnight's. On Friday some specimen stone was obtained from a new leader cut in the south cross-cut at the 80 feet level. The repairs to the creek Bhaft are completed. The mine manager's report for the week is as follows :—" Point Russell creek level.—ln north cross-cut a promising looking leader two inches thick has been intersected, and the drive is still going through good country. Nonpareil. The adit level is now abreast of the shaft, and a crosscut will now be put in thirty feet to reach it. No. 2 drive from this level has not yet been connected with the shaft. 80 feet level.—There is nothing fresh to report in south cross-cut, and driving east and west from this level is being pushed forward upon the new leaders. This lode is occasionally very much pinched up for a few feet, and when making again, a few patches of gold are met with. A few pounds of rich stone were obtained yesterday. 150 feet level.— In stoping upon No. 9 reef, west from No. 2 winze, colors of gold are frequently seen, and the stuff is payable. There is nothing fresh to mention in any of the other stopes, and I am pleased to say the general crushing is showing an improvement ijjipn last return. The repairs to creek shaft will be completed on Monday next, when it.will be ready for transit of quarlz from the.creek.'"—Robt. Comee.
