Representative Ball.
The grand representative ball in honor of the Carbine Champion and his brother representatives took place last evening in the Academy. There were upwards of three hundred persons present, but, although crowded, the votaries of Terpsichore seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. The greatest credit is due to the energy of the Committee, and the Secretary, Mr W. H. Potts, together with Captain Wildmau, for the eminently -satisfactory arrangements, which were excellently carried out, and also to the fine band of the N avals, who, under the conductorship of their baud master, Mr Bafccheidor, efficiently played the dance music. The following programme of dances was carried out iv its entirety:— Quadrille, Waltz, Polka, Lancers, Schottische, Mazurka, Caledonians, March Waltz, Polka, Alberts, Schottishe, Galop. Second part —Quadrille, Polka, Scbottische, Lancers, Waltz, Mazurka, Alberts, Galop, Schottische, Quadrille, Waltz, Mazurka and Circassian Circle. Dancing was kept up with spirit until about 4.30 a.m.
