KURANUI HILL.

The manager reports on the 14th inst.: —Teutonic section: Stoping has beec continued on Barry's lode as described in my last week's report. The vein is still ot the variable character previously described, and shows no improvement in value. Junction and All JS ations, surface workings: The quartz got during last week showed a little gold at every breaking, and continues to look very well. We have here several months' profitable work for a limited number of men. Poverty section : Stoping and driving eastward is being continued by three shifts of men, As yet we have found no rich patches, but gold is now very freely seen, and the stuff at the battery is shaping like four or five ounces per ton. The sinking of the second winze is also being carried on t>y three shifts, and we also see a little gold here. On this division of the mine I have lately had eighteen men and will continue to keep it fully manned. Belfast : The lode iv this division (more fully referred to in my special report ot the 7th inst.) is looking very promising, and the trial parcel now going through the mill is showing a little gold on the plates. The indications are all I can desire, and I am hopeful of touching something good at any time. Batteiw : Ail the tribute crushings will be finished by Wednesday, as also the parcels of company quartz, and full particulars will be sent in due course, meanwhile I can notify you that with the exception of LeMnnquais, Pearce, and Jury's parties none other of our tributers hate good returns. Jury had 33ozs, Le Manquais 54ozs, and Pearce 70oz. 360 ft level. In my report dated 28th February, I acquainted you of the reason for the temporary stoppage at this level. I have been unable to bring in sufficient water for our air forcer, and think we shall best wait for next rainfall to help us.—J. W. Walkek.
