OPINION AND ADVICE.
From Waikawau to Wilson's is by far the worst part of the road in the Coro mandel County; from Wilson's to the Tiki road the track is very fair, being culverted and made quite safe, and if it was not quite so steep in places might be considered a very good road. As a whole, I do not recommend parties travelling alone along this road ; they should always have company, as there are so many places an accident might happen, and a man might lie for days before he was discovered.
I trust that the meeting to take place on Friday next between the Thames and Coromandel County Councils may lead to good results. .To say the least of it, it is not creditable—after a goldfield being in existence for so many years—to have what may be called no road between the Thames and Coromandel.
