Reception of the Carbine Champion.

The various Volunteer corps met by order of Major Murray, at the Naval Hall this afternoon, at 4.30, to meet and welcome the Carbine Champion, Vol. Armstrong, and the Thames Representatives on their return from Nelson. The Naval Brigade had a capital muster, and the band played popular airs to and from the wharf. The Cadets and the Eiile corps also presented a fair attendance, although the hour was not very suitable for a good muster. There was a lars[e attendanbe of the general public, and the applause was hearty and genuine when the Champion landed, and while he accompanied his corps through the streets fcj the Hall.
