Owhakoa, Friday. In several mines in this locality good stone is coming out. The .Radical tributers, Campbeil and party, are crushing with 10 head at the Smile of Fortune —the little rain we have had lately giving sufficient water for that purpose.. The dirt although not so rich as the last is showing up for a large return.
Bray and party are also getting out what they consider payable stone.
In the Golden Hill, Wingate and'mates are meeting with good prospects and are taking out payable stone. In the Victoria, the tunnel is still being pushed on, but nothing payable has been met with up to the present. In the Lucky Hit, the whole of the tramway and hoppers will be finished this week, and? the owners of that mine deserve success for the amount of work they havo done.
The Smile of Fortune of tributers fire still driving on the No. 2 leader. They have also started a crosscut from the Waterfall Creek to intersect the reef cm the upper portion of the groumi. In the .Morning Light, a main fcujumei is being put in, and the present intenUou is to crosscut when the tunnel is in 1.00 feel. should nothing payablo bo found in driving.
Several new parties are out prospecting in the district, and all speak well of its prospects.
