Cricket.
The following is the Aucklaad team picked to play against the Thames eleven on Saturday next:—Messrs Mumford, Swanson, Lankham senr., Lankham junr., P. Dufaur, C. E. MacCormick, A. Mao Cormick, F. Porch, N. Porch, C. Bowden, and Ivens. The team will leave Auckland . at 7 o'clock on Friday evening, and will arrive here shortly past midnight. Play will commence on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. punctually. Our local men will need a large amount of practice during the few days yet remaining before the match, as a stronger team than that selected could hardly have been found in Auckland, and our city cousins are cvi- ' dently determined that the victory shall not be lost through a badly picked eleven. A practice was held both yesterday afternoon and to-day at Parawai, and the cricketers on the Thames are eagerly looking forward to the match. Cricketers! Lot not the Auckland meu return to their city saying vent, vieli, vici, but rather vent, nos vidi ct cecedi. LoKft-OFS 1.
