OWHAROA.
(PBOM OTTB OWN COBBESPONDENT.)
Campbell and party started crushing on Monday from the Radical, but had to stop for want of water after a few tons had been crushed. The show left by what was crushed was excellent, end a fine return is expected. Smile of Fortune.—A' good deal of dead work is being done at present, but something good is expected before long. The Lucky Hit shareholders, Bauld and party—two old miners—have been •onstructin? a tramway since the New Tear which has been pretty expensive. I think our County Council might give them a little asssitance. In-the Victoria lease, Liddle and party are driving a crosscut from the Annie creek to intersect all leadors. from the ■ Radical and Smile' of Fortune, and I think their show is second to. none here.
I went to the new field to-day— Waitete, and saw a very good show of gold. I think there is nothing in the district to equal it, and I hope crushing power will soon be provided, as I have no doubt it will be the mainstay of the. Thames. Mr J. Darrow, Colonel Fraser, and our old friend Mr Adam Porter have been visiting the district, and seem well pleased' with the prospects. They are not bad judges I know.
