Paynter takes Hobson's Cup for the highest aggregate in matches one and eight, and also holds the Marlborough Cup for this year as winner of No. 8 Match.

The Citizens' and Brewers' Prize Match is now in progress. The ranges are 200, 400, and 500 yards ; 7 shots at each range. Open to all members of the Association. First prize, a cup presented by the citizens and £20; secoud, a tea and coffee service, presented by the brewers, and £12; third, an umbrella stand, presented by Messrs Mowbray and Crosbie, and £10 ; fourth, two cwt. flour, presented by Mr Rutherford, and £5. Weir made 27 at the 500 »nd Downie 25. A. Thomas made 27 at the 200 and Armstrong 21, coming back.
